Never Apologize For Your Studio….

My studio has its own personality.

Last time I worked…..

At rare moments it is the very model of simplicity and organization.

Getting started today….

But it is usually a monstrous clutter from one end to the other.

Closer image of top half…

A lot of people are surprised to see my messy studio.

But I could care less. My studio is the one place where I don’t worry, or notice the chaos and clutter. It and the world simple disappear, melts away somewhere beyond the clouds while I work.

Where I stopped today…

The studio is less important than other things, like the burning desire to paint. If you don’t have this disease, you can’t catch it from a nice studio.

Studio Ghosts: When you’re in the studio painting, there are a lot of people in there with you – your teachers, friends, painters from history, critics… and one by one if you’re really painting, they walk out. And if you’re really painting YOU walk out.

Until next time.
