Roads Less Traveled, WIP & Art Receptions…

On A Personal Note:

It seems that my surrealist leanings are being highly influenced with nature, flowers, women, pearls, vines and other natural and highly symbolic imagery. In a world that’s working so hard to end more gender bias, and encourage neutral environments, it seems I am choosing to follow a different path. But then, I’ve never been known for following the path most traveled in the things truly important to me.

This is ringing very ironically with me, since I recently encouraged my own child to do so in a business matter. Is it what my heart wanted to say? No. But, the protective mother side of me rose up fiercely and wants to protect. I find that the older I become, the more aware I am, of life’s imbalance, scariness and chaos. Perhaps this is why I create beautiful, but disorderly art these days.

February is nearly half over and I am already working on my second piece. An image is located below the artist reception information in art updates.

I will only be in attendance of one of the two upcoming events this weekend. But I encourage anyone in the area to visit 2nd Friday in Bedford, and the exhibit at Bower. There are over 160 pieces of work. And if you’re so inclined-I’d be honored to get your “peoples choice vote”.

The show in Altavista has been up since December, if you’d like to see it, you’d best hurry!

I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference. -Robert Frost
