Sunflowers; Crazed with the love of light

How did it get to be August so quickly?
My summer feels like it has passed very quickly, almost a blur at times.
The last three months have brought on a lot of change for my view from 1502.
Most times I feel like I am still catching my breath,
and hang on while my life clicks along, like a game of Tetris. (old school game)
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a planner and a control freak.
August is also one of my favorite times to visit the Biltmore House in Asheville, NC.
I love being there any time of the year, but especially right August,
when the fields of gleaming yellow sunflowers are in bloom.
You simply can not stand among them and not feel moved.
I titled the blog ‘crazed with the love of light’.
The quote comes from Eugenio Montale.
The very essence of August and summer is showcased
within the petals of sunflowers.
Art Title: Sunflower; Lover of Light
a digital painting
using an apple pencil and the free app sketchbook

One of the coolest things about digital painting, you don’t like a black background, no problem, click, click…its another color, want texture, swipe, click click…its just that easy!

“Bring me then the plant that points to those bright Lucidities
swirling up from the earth,

And life itself exhaling that central breath!

Bring me the sunflower crazed with the love of light.”
― Eugenio Montale

(lucidities- referring to brightness & lucidity)
